2010/2011 Camping Schedule

Welcome to Pack 92 camping! You will find below all the camping trips we have planned for the year so far. Each trip has links to the campsites and/or parks, a link to a map for directions, and the ability to sign-up for trips via email. It is our goal this year to have as much scout particapation as possible,  so we plan to have as much information to you as soon as possible so you may arrange your schedules accordingly. Pack 92 Goes Fishing

October 8th-10th

Saddle Creek Park Lakeland

Saddle Creek Park is situated between Winter Haven and Lakeland in Polk County, Florida. It is managed and maintained by Polk County Leisure Services who do a great job of caring for the park. This park has some of the best fresh water bank fishing in the state! Bring your fishing pole and you will not be disappointed.

A full service bait shop is located at the park entrance for all your fishing supply needs. The park also has a large playground, sand volley ball net, 2 excellent hiking trails, and did I mention the best bank fresh water fishing around?  This camp site is fully paid for by the pack & the Saturday dinner, so just bring your gear and food! Oh yeah, and fishing gear!  

Directions: Take I-4 east to Exit 28 (Hwy 92, Memorial Blvd) go 8 miles to Saddle creek park rd (bait shop is on corner) and go left. Follow street to end, campground is on the left before the road splits. The entrance to “Scout Island” is at the back of the campground.

Gulf Ridge Council Presents: "Spook-O-Ree"

All Packs and their families are invited to join us for the Spook-O-Ree and Scare Trail. Our program will be relaxed, but sure to be a fun filled weekend! Some of the events planned for this weekend will include crafts, a costume contest, BB's and archery (for registered Cub Scouts only). We will finish up the weekend with an awesome campfire program.

Camp McGregor Smith (12650 Boy Scout Rd., Inverness)

Date: October 22-24 2010

Who: All Cub Scout Packs and their families

Cost: $15 per Cub Scout (includes a patch), $10 per parent/guardian, $10 per each sibling with siblings under 5 free. T-shirts are available for $10 at the camp’s trading posts. Additional patches are available for $1.50 each.

Deadline (to Council): Pack Registration and payment are due by October 8, 2010. Payments must be postmarked by October 8, otherwise a late fee of $5.00 will be assessed.

 

 

Pack 92 Lithia Springs Campout & Fish Fry!

November 12th-14th 2010

Lithia Springs Park

3932 Lithia Springs Road Lithia FL 33547The 160-acre park, located on the Alafia River, offers varied plant communities, river cypress swamps, hardwood hammocks and high sand hills that provide terrain not often seen in Hillsborough County. The park’s major attraction is the natural spring that provides an excellent swimming experience since the water temperature remains at 72 degrees year around. In addition to swimming, there is a bath house, playground and picnic facilities.

 

Join us for the Saturday “Fish Fry Dinner” (whether you are camping or not) where we will enjoy fried tilapia, crab cakes, and lots of side dishes! Since this park is so close to home we will be planning a few “Pack” events that will include belt buckle earning opportunities for all the scouts whether they are camping or not! Depending on the weather, scouts will also be able to swim in the parks Natural Spring! Non-Campers will have to pay the $2 park entrance fee to attend.

 

Please arrive no later than 1:30pm for the Pack Events and 5pm if you just will be attending the dinner.

Webelos Woods 2010

December 10th - 12th 2010

Flaming Arrow Scout Reservation, Lake Wales FL

Come join us for one of the biggest camping events for WEBELOS and Boy Scouts put on by the Timucua District.  Come for a weekend of activities geared toward introducing WEBELOS Scouts to what awaits them as Boy Scouts.  The events are sponsored by local Boy Scout Troops just waiting to show your WEBELOS what Boy Scouts is all about!

Event fee is $10 person

Sertoma Youth Ranch Campout

February 25th-27th 2011

Come join the pack at this fun camping area in Dade City for hiking, sports, and adventure! if we are lucky maybe Mr Tucker will make some new trails for us to hike ;).. This will be the last pack campout before the Webelo 2 den crosses over on the Monday Following at our Blue and Gold Banquet... This campout is paid for by the pack, and a Pack dinner will be served on Saturday night!

 

Disney's Fort Wilderness Campout!

April 15th-17th 2011

Come join us for a fun weekend of scouting activities at this wonderful campground! We will allow plenty of “Family Time” so you may fully enjoy the many offerings of the resort such as swimming, boating, fishing, biking and more!

 

We will be site camping where we will have 2 tents per camp site. We will be camping 2 nights and our sites will be set up side by side in the same area. We have reserved 10 partial hook-up sites that will fit 2 tents or smaller pop-up campers so we will have 2 families sharing each of these sites unless you would like to pay for the entire site yourself. We also have 2 full hook-up RV sites reserved for people already, so if you prefer to RV camp let us know right away so we can add more RV sites. Full hook-up site will fit only one RV so one family is allowed per site.

 

PACK GATHERING SITE

We will be using one of the partial sites as our “Pack Gathering Site” for our pack paid for Saturday night meal. The cost of that site will be included in your total site fees per family ($8 or less).

 Please make sure you sign-up early and pay as soon as possible! Disney does require us to pay the deposit up-front so please make sure you pay the pack ASAP. Remember you can use funds generated from the chocolate sales for this trip!

Pack 92 2010-2011 "Cross-Over Campout"

June 3-5th 2011

Join us for our Final campout of the pack year at Edward Medard Park near Plant City! This campout will feature our Scout Cross-Over ceremony where our boys move up to the next rank in scouts for the next year. The Cross over will be held on Saturday at 11am and will include a Pack paid lunch. This campout will be fully paid for by the pack, all you need to bring is food for your other meals besides the Saturday lunch, and your camping gear.

The park features Hiking trails, play grounds, fishing area, and the "Sand pits" where the kids can have tons of fun!
